To Join the E-mail List, follow these directions:

From the email address (not an AOL E-mail address, please*) you wish to add, send the following message to listserv@lists.ufl.edu.

subscribe LSDems-L FirstName LastName

(i.e. subscribe LSDEMS-L Jane Doe)

The above text should be in the body of the message.  Listserv will then automatically send you a confirmation email.  Follow the directions (click the link) in the email.  You will then be added to the email list.  Below are some instructions about how to use the list.

To send a message to everyone on the list, just email it to LSDems-L@lists.ufl.edu. It will automatically be sent to everyone on the email list.  This is a discussion list so respond to the list when it seems helpful.  If your response is more pointed, then please respond only to the individual who sent the message.  Use the reasonable man of ordinary prudence standard when making such a determination.

To send a message to the list administrators, just email it to LSDems-L-Request@lists.ufl.edu.  You can use this for any questions you may have about the list.  Questions about the organization should be directed to the appropriate officers.

If you'd like to receive all messages in a single email, once daily, you can tell listserv to send you the 'digest'.  This will cut down the amount of email you might receive from the list to 1 message per day.  To request digest service, email the following command to listserv@lists.ufl.edu.

SET LSDems-L DIGEST

CAUTION: Listserv will automatically share your name and email address to other members upon their request.  To prevent this, send the following command to listserv@lists.ufl.edu.

SET LSDems-L CONCEAL

To leave the list, send the following message to listserv@lists.ufl.edu.

signoff LSDems-L

Obviously you must do this from the email account you want removed.
